JAGA SCHOLARSHIP TRUST GOLF CLASSIC
RESCHEDULED FROM NOV. 2 TO FEB. 22
-Ponte Vedra Inn & Club/Ocean Remains Host
for Key Scholarship Fundraiser-
JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Area Golf Association (JAGA) announced today that its annual fundraising golf tournament to benefit the JAGA Scholarship Trust Fund has been rescheduled. Originally scheduled for Nov. 2nd, the “
JAGA Scholarship Trust Golf Classic” will be played
Feb. 22, 2021.
The
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club/Ocean Course will be the host venue for the 18th playing of this important JAGA fundraiser.
Money raised from the Classic will support JAGA’s 2020-21 Scholarship Trust program, which currently provides financial aid to 27 students who represent 17 JAGA-member clubs and attend 16 different colleges in and outside the state of Florida. Since the Trust was formed in 1974, JAGA has awarded approximately $1.8 million to more than 375 deserving area students who aspire to earn college degrees.
Former JAGA president
Adair Roberts (2014-15) of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club will once again chair the event, with current JAGA president
Randy Nader of Sawgrass Country Club serving as co-chair. The event was launched in 2003 by another former JAGA president, the late
Bill Black (1993-94), and carries on in his memory today.
“COVID-related logistical issues forced JAGA to move off its traditional fall Scholarship Trust Classic date but we have full confidence this move to February will produce equal or even greater proceeds than the $15,000 raised for the Trust last year," said Roberts. “The Jacksonville/Northeast Florida golf community has always been supportive of this important fundraiser. We look forward to enjoying another wonderful day together at the Inn & Club in February and raising a lot of money for JAGA scholarships.”
Another sellout field of 120 golfers is expected.
Sponsorships of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 are available, as are Hole Sponsorships for $125 and teams of four for $600 and single players for $150. Details may be found at
