Corey Weworski holds on to win the Senior Championship Division; Kim Bruce goes wire-to-wire to win the Senior Field; Shan Giordano brings home a victory in Super Senior

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL– Florida Atlantic University brings home back-to-back First Coast Women’s Amateur titles with Nany Cox winning the 2025 Championship division. With scores of 77-70-74, the Ponte Vedra Beach local held off a tough field and even tougher conditions to win the Championship division by 6 shots.

Conditions were tough, as they always are, at Sawgrass Country Club’s East/West Course. Cox said that a turning point in her round came on Hole 5 where she hit her ball in the hazard and had to take a drop, before she could hit her shot into the green, the tournament went into a delay. The delay worked in her favor, because she hit a great shot into the green that made her feel confident to finish the round strong. In her acceptance speech, she spoke about how great it felt to win at home with so many familiar faces.

In the Senior Championship division, Corey Weworski went wire-to-wire to win by 8 shots over Mary Jane Hiestand. Weworski travelled from Carlsbad, CA to win her first FCWA event. Consistent play over the three days helped Weworski beat a very strong Senior Championship division.

The Senior Field Division was won in commanding fashion by Kim Bruce. She beat her competitors by 15 shots to go wire-to-wire in her division.

With score of 87-86, Shan Giordano of St. Augustine held off to win the Super-Senior Division. Consistent rounds propped her up to win her first FCWA Championship. In a hard-fought battle for second place, Lori Collins of Jacksonville and Janice Wilson of Pinehurst, NC tied with a total of 177.
