JAGA Tournament news; Inaugural Crown Jewel Invitational at San Jose a big success

South Carolina’s Tommy Gainey became the 15th player in PGA TOUR Champions history to win a tournament after successfully Monday qualifying when he did so at the Constellation Furyk and Friends presented by Circle K at Timuquana CC early last month.

Marsh Creek Country Club, led by director of golf Bryce DiPatri, was clearly the strongest team in the 43rd Club Team Championship at the King & Bear course at the World Golf Village on Oct. 27. The foursome of DiPatri, John Matulia, Kodi Merrell and Ashley Casey was four strokes better than anyone else in the 24-team field.

Amateur championships
The area’s top local amateur championships will be this month.
The 62nd Jacksonville Amateur will played at San Jose on July 20-22 with UNF’s Jason Duff defending. It will be 54 holes with a cut after the second round. An unprecedented 132 players have signed up for the 84-player field. Read more here…
