ENTRY AND APPLICATION INFORMATION

Conditions of Play:

Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the event) by the JAGA.  The reason for rejection may include false statement of handicap index, improper attire and/or unbecoming conduct. Any person whose entry is accepted shall be subject to the Rules and Conditions of Competitions set forth by JAGA. In all JAGA championships, an official event may be constituted by reverting to the results of an earlier round. 18 holes may constitute an official event.

Entries:  Form; Fee, Closing Date:

All players shall apply on JAGA Online Entry Forms. Forms are available on the JAGA website (www.jaxareagolf.org). Entry forms that are late, or incomplete, will not be accepted.  Entry forms by telegram, telephone, fax, or e-mail will not be accepted.  Time limit for entries means time of receipt by JAGA and not time of postmark.  Entry forms should be mailed early to allow ample time for delay or errors in delivery.  No entries will be accepted after January 8, 2017.

An entry fee of $275 will be paid by all players for the Championship.  All entries must be received by the close of entries.  An entry is not complete until payment has been received.  The application alone is not sufficient to guarantee entryThe entry fee will be refunded, regardless of reason, if the JAGA Tournament Chairman is notified, [(904) 304-2067] before the close of entries.  After the close of entries, the entry fee, less any fixed costs, will be refunded in the event of injury or illness if requested by Jan 8, 2017. The field is limited to 104 players

The Close of Entries for Competitors is 5 PM, January 8, 2017.

Refunds:

Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored (less $20 per entry administration fee). Requests received after the closing date will be honored (less 50% of the entry fee). No requests will be honored within 48 hours of the first scheduled tee time.

Championship:

The championship will be 54 holes of individual stroke play.

Championship Rounds – 54 holes

Saturday, January 14, 18 holes

Sunday, January 15, 18 holes

Monday, January 16, 18 holes

Lowest scorer for 54 holes will be the Champion. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided immediately by a sudden death hole-by-hole play-off with the stipulated round deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a winner to be decided. Any playoff will begin at a hole determined by the committee.

In the event of inclement weather and a round cannot be completed, the Championship will revert to the scores from previous completed full round.

 

Rules of Golf; Close of Competition:

Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and Local Rules and Conditions of Competition for JAGA Championships (Hard Card).  Questions will by settled by the JAGA Tournament Committee, whose decision shall be final.  The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the Championship trophy has been presented.

Carts:

All players will be required to utilize the golf carts provided by the host club during the Championship.  Only competitors may ride in competitor carts regardless of the space available. If carts are available from the Club, spectators who desire to ride may rent a cart, but it must remain on the cart path at all times. Spectators may also walk and stay on cart paths.

Practice Privileges:

One practice round will be available at Amelia National Golf & Country Club to players officially entered in the 2017 First Coast Amateur Championship. Round may be played Tuesday through Friday 30 days prior to be monitored by head golf professional and subject to available tee times. Contact the pro shop at (904) 652-0660.

Prizes:

Championship:

The Champion will receive a personal permanent trophy for winning the First Coast Amateur Championship Trophy and will have their name engraved on the permanent trophy. Other prizes awarded for all competitors who made the cut will consist of Merchandise Certificates redeemable at Amelia National Golf & Country Club pro shop. A competitor must complete all three (3) rounds of play in order to receive a prize certificate.

Practice Between Holes:

A player shall not play any practice stroke on or near the putting green of the hole last played.  If a practice stroke is played on or near the putting green of the hole last played, the player shall incur a penalty of two strokes at the next hole, except that in the case of the last hole of the round, he incurs the penalty at that hole.

Conditions, Schedules:

The JAGA Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.   The Committee reserves the right to maintain the most competitive field possible, and may reserve up to 10 entrant positions for the event. The decision of the Tournament Committee in any matter shall be final.

Spikeless Policy:

All competitors must wear alternative, or soft type, spikes. Shoes with traditionally designed metal spikes are prohibited.

Attire:

Proper attire for competitors and spectators is required at all times at the golf facility. Failure to comply may result in withdrawal of entry. The proper dress code prohibits tank tops, T-shirts, denim shorts, jeans and short shorts. All hats must be worn properly. Collared shirts or shirts specifically designed for golf must be worn and tucked in at all times. This code supplements any course or club guidelines, which shall take precedence.

Official Time:

The official time will be maintained at the starting tee(s) only.

Registration Table:

There will be a registration table set up in front of the pro shop. All contestants are required to check in.

Lunches

Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday.
